Ikigai is a Japanese term that translates to "a reason to live." This concept inspires individuals to discover what truly matters to them, fostering a life filled with joy and purpose. The word combines "iki," meaning "to live," and "gai," meaning "reason," reflecting the essence of living a meaningful life.
No one should ever feel alone. Something as simple as a Facebook group, which might seem trivial to some, can be a lifeline for others—a source of joy, connection, and purpose. After moving to several new cities following college, I’ve experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to create new friendships and build professional networks in unfamiliar places. That sense of isolation can be overwhelming, especially when you're far from family and familiar support systems.
I founded these two groups with the hope of bridging that gap, offering people a welcoming space to meet others, share experiences, and feel part of something bigger. Whether it's finding a friend to explore the city with, discovering new career opportunities, or simply having a community that feels like home, these groups are here to foster genuine connections and help people build a life filled with meaning and belonging.
